Building Connections, One Project at a Time
When Mark Lee retired in 2015, he opened his five-bay detached workshop to a group of elderly men from Leeside Manor, creating a space where they could build, create, and enjoy the camaraderie of a true "man cave."
He quickly noticed a unique dynamic—while women often connect through face-to-face conversations, men tend to bond shoulder-to-shoulder, working on meaningful projects. One of their first projects was assembling a silver light aircraft, the RV-12, which inspired the name:Silver Eagle Project.
At Silver Eagle Project, we are redefining senior care for men and veterans. Rather than traditional senior center activities, we offer a hands-on, engaging environment that fosters purpose and connection. Our workshops provide opportunities to explore woodworking, metalworking, crafting, and even aircraft building—activities that resonate deeply, especially with our many retired and former Boeing employees.
By engaging in these projects, our members stay mentally and socially active, creating lasting friendships and a sense of fulfillment.
Workshop Hours: Monday–Thursday, 10 AM–3 PM
Join us as we build, create, and connect—one project at a time.
